    No. The M means "Medium" and the "W" is wide. If you do not have a wide foot, the wide width will fall off your feet.

    (Just for your info, there is also an "N" for "Narrow" and "WW" for extra wide (or wide wide).

    No. The letter denotes the width–so, an 11w will be wider than an 11m.

    I really don’t think so a wide shoe is different from a medium width.

    Yes the size is the same, but the fit will be different. The m is for medium and the w is for wide and these refer to the width respectively.

    Not too many women wear a size 11 shoe. That is awfully big. However, an 11M would be average width but 11W is wide width. So a woman wearing an11W shoe would have a very big foot.

    No it is not the same size ! 11 W means WIDE Width, so the shoe is wider then M !! M is medium width ! so you go by the width of your foot to see which size you are, a w or a M?
